Evolution

I can't believe its actually been two years since writing a blog post.  Two years! And what happened in that two years?  Well, mainly a lot of working, eating, sleeping: rinse and repeat.  Very boring.

Recap: The past two years have not been great financial-wise and my car is a MAJOR, if not whole reason for it.  Having one car and having two people working was pretty difficult, but we are lucky to live near a few establishments that hire pretty frequently. Plus my car (being 30+years old) always needs some sort of repair.  Last time I posted, I was just getting settled from moving from loud, noisy, privacy-invading apartments into a house! We are still renting, but we are getting closer to one to buy!

Fast forward to September 2015.  I was let go from my job. I never liked my job, really kinda hated it, but I have never not worked since I was 16.  I was in tears/emotional shambles for days/weeks. My husband had just put in a notice to his job so he could look for something work-wise.  It was not a great time.

Luckily, we had a little help and my husband got on working in construction!  Sometimes its a whole week, sometimes its a few days but it pays the bills.  We decided together that if he could do that and pay what we needed to pay, that I could stay home.  (WHHHHATT!?) I have no children, so that means, taking care of the house, making sure all the errands are ran, phone calls that are needed to be made, are, and attending to his needs.

There is many a controversy about what kind of wife/woman you want to be.  Nowadays, its about being a modern woman: career first, family later/second.  When I was growing up, my mom stayed home with us until my youngest sister started second grade.  It was great, and it really made me think that everyone else's mom could do that too.  Now that I have my own house and my husband, staying at home has given me a chance to explore and experience the type of person that I am! I have found things that I never knew that I would enjoy!! And I will not lie, many of them are very women-stereotype.

In high school, I was in an advanced English class and was the esteemed, no bars held feminist.  Yeah, me.
I hated the fact that any one could be held back/down for what they were born being.  I also didn't want guys thinking that I was a push over because I was nice.  That happened a lot, and not just with boyfriends.  Towards and into my Senior Year, I realized that I was not GIRL POWER, but I believed in all genders, races, everyone to be equal.

To tie all this in, I laugh and somewhat feel that I need to defend myself when I tell people the hobbies I like, and how I love to take care of my husband.  They ask, "Well, what about you?  When do you take care of you?  My husband can take care of himself.  He doesn't do anything for me." Etc etc.  I ENJOY it! Not only that, its not one-sided.  A few mornings ago, I was asleep with my usual quilt, and my husband got up to get ready for work. I woke up to find another blanket over me.  I had to smile.  My sweet, wonderful husband took the time while groggy/waking up himself to do something nice for me, even though I couldn't be grateful for it right then.

Some of these hobbies are brand new!  Some of these, I've been into for a little while!  My latest hobby has been gardening!  I never thought in a million years that I would have the patience and determination to garden.  Ever.  My father gardened a little bit when I was smaller, and my mother had a black thumb.  Killed cacti and other "non-killable plants".
I went to Home Depot with my in-laws and my husband, and picked out a Sweet Basil, Curly Parsley and Cilantro plant!  They are doing really well so far!!

I have been cooking, healthy cooking, researching nutritional benefits to more and more foods! Everyone has to eat right?  I was so jealous watching cooking videos where people were like, "Yeahhh I just picked this herb right out of my garden." Brilliant.  My plan, is if I am successful this year with my herbs, I want to grow tomatoes, bell peppers, kale, etc.  I can cook/bake with this beautiful produce!! That to me, is amazing!!

My mother-in-law got pots of flowers.  They were beautiful, but I told my husband that I'm not putting the effort in, unless I get something tangible out of it.  I'm a total foodie...

And this is coming from someone who couldn't boil a pot of water.  Me.  This learning how to cook, is very late-coming!  I have been cooking a little bit (alot but more on that later) ... I've been so into Mexican food lately (thus the cilantro!) Here's one of my little 'creations' that I have been enjoying lately!!

I like to call it a Simple Burrito Bowl! I mix some rice, black beans, avocado, and Goya Criollo.  That is something my husband grew up eating beans with and the ONLY way I will eat any beans!  lol It's delicious!! Definitely something to check out if you haven't ever had it.  Its originally a marinade!!

I'm always up for new recipes and gardening tips! If anyone has anything they want to share, comment down below! I'll try and make it and make a specific post for it!
Thanks guys!! It's good to be back!

Catching Up Again

For those of you who don't know, I have been retrieving the internet off of my phone after the internet company decided to charge me the same for way less internet.  However, I think I may have found a substitute!! We will see!!

My phone HATES blogspot!  It barely lets me log in before it kicks me right back out!! Drives me crazy!

Therefore: I have been absent from my blogging duties.

UFGATORBUGG (Julie) encouraged me to, when I next time hit the library for coupons (yes I've been couponing and hoarding) that I should write a blogpost!  Sometimes when I go to the library, all the things I want to do when I go to a normal desktop computer instantly flies out of my mind, and I'm like, "What did I want to do again??"  It goes back to that, "I don't need to write this down, I will remember this" lie.

So a little recap:  I have recently (in the past few months) have become one of the administrators for Haley's Heavenly Scents!! (YAYYYY!!!) She is one of my favorite vendors and I'm so proud and happy to be apart of a great team!! And being an administrator, yes I am going to post the sale HHS is having.

I have also been couponing.  Does anyone coupon like a hobby?? I have been loving sites like coupons.com and redplum.com.  I plan to take a picture once I make my little "haul" :D

Hope everyone has been doing well and I want to know what I've been missing!! What vendors have you found/liked?  What scents?  Has anyone tried the Thumbprint Cookie Scent?  Or Cookie Butter Crack?  Inquiring Minds want to know!!

I missed doing this!! I hope I can do another one of these soon!!

Aunt Smellman Review Part 2

Hello everyone!  And welcome to the second installment of the Aunt Smellman Review!

If you have not read the first part of the review, it should be two posts back.

I promised more pictures right?? Yes, I did!! And I will deliver!! lol

These were the singles I got!!  They traveled pretty well!! Mandarin Tiki was a little smushed up, but the rest of them were good!!

Then here are the clamshells I got!

What I wanted to show here is the "Pour Date" that she has
on all the clamshells!! I love that and hope/wish more vendors
would do this!!

Aunt Smellman told me to wait a week, so I waited a week and melted a few of my clamshells and one or two of my singles!

Pinkie's Lemon Chiffon/Pinkie's Sugar: Yep you can obviously tell I'm a Pink Sugar fan.  Can't get enough.  I had this melting in a 24watt hot plate warmer and had medium to strong throw for atleast 4-6hours.  I had originally gotten this one for Barry but I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The Lemon Chiffon part isn't a sickly sweet lemon, almost like a candy lemon with a twinge of Pink Sugar.  It was a really nice scent, although I'm surprised I didn't smell more Pink Sugar because it was in there twice.

Pinkie's Sugar Headbanger: This is Aunt Smellman's version of a double strength Sinus Relief!  When I smelled it on cold, it smelled like a pretty peppermint (probably the result of the Pink Sugar) but it didn't smell like it'd be super strong sinus reliever like the "HeadBanger" part implies.  But when I melted the two cubes, it took OVER!  Peppermint is notoriously a strong scent, and the scent definitely lived up to its name.  It even started giving me a headache a little, so I had to turn it off after an hour.  (Sorry!) If you get this scent, try half a scent shot or one cube.  This was melted in a 24watt hot plate.

Berry Blast: This was one of the singles that I had received.  I had received a few singles in the past that when melted in my lightbulb warmer, was SUPER STRONG!  So strong, that I'd have to cut them in half!  I put Berry Blast in my kitchen and this one definitely wasn't as strong as the other singles that I had tried.  I smelled a little when it traveled in my living room (about fifteen feet) but it was a light scent for me.

Toasted Marshmallow/Birthday Cake: I tried melting this one in my lightbulb warmer and it was light.  However, I tried it again in my 24watt hot plate and it was a good thrower there!! I got a good throw for about 2-3 hours then it trickled into a light scent.

Overall: I think I would order from Aunt Smellman again.  Aunt Smellman has some good scents, that threw well for me and even surprised me.  And there are some scents that I probably wouldn't reorder.  I'm still melting and finding new scents that surprise me.  One scent that I keep forgetting to try that I have is Pinkie's Sugar Pouty Pucker.  It smells SOO good cold and I think it'll be a great performer!!

Regular Regular Post!

Finally made it to the library to tell you guys about Aunt Smellman and talk about our regularly waxy scheduled programs!

I have been melting some seriously awesome wax melts this week!! For example:

TBG Cleopatra's Cream Bath - This one lasts forever!! It's on its second day and I'm inlove!
TBG Gardenia Coconut Cream - This one I really thought I wasn't going to like, because I'm not a big Gardenia fan, but this is SUCH a good combo!  I'll reorder it again and again!
Shayz Pink Sugar Vanilla Bean
Shayz Pink Dreams  - This one smelled different than I remember it.  It had some weird citrus to it this time... versus having a soothing effect.  It may have been the warmer I was using.
RG Strawberry Serendipity
Daphne's Serendipity Vanilla Butter Fudge
Daphne's Hot Pink Lime Serendipity - This is such an interesting combo too!! Love it!
HHS Pink Noel
Shayz Pink Toastie Marshmallow
Front Porch  Sweet Dreams
Streetman's Lavender Sheets
K's Kreations Sea Island Strawberries

I also put in a RTS order to Scent Illusions!  I have seen a few of my people who I know are picky about scents, that I trust their opinion, talk about Scent Illusions!  So I figured why not?

I got these beautiful pies: one in raspberry/pomegranate/cotton candy and fresh squeezed orange/coconut/cupcake for $22 shipped!! They sound amazing and I can't wait to try them and display them in my wax shelf!

The only order I am still waiting on is from Haley's Heavenly Scents, which I placed on 3/05, so I'm still way within TAT!  I don't mind from waiting for HHS (even though I'm impatient as all get out!) because I know Janet always comes through!!  And never disappoints!

I hope everyone is melting some fabulous things!! I'd love to hear about them!! Sound off in the comments!

Aunt Smellman Review Part 1

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII EVERYBODY!!! (In a Grover type voice from Sesame Street)

I tell you what, having a phone with internet has its perks, but it also has its drawbacks!!

I have missed blogging!! Between working and being lazy at home (because who wants to willingly leave their wax and nice comfortable home?) I've barely made it to the library!

Luckily, I found an opening to make another order which I will make a separate post about!

This particular post is the first part of my two part Aunt Smellman review!!!

Aunt Smellman, around two weeks ago, made a post for Youtube vloggers and bloggers that stated for a review for her wax, she would give a discount for the reviewed order.

Prior to this order, I have never ordered from Aunt Smellman in the past, but have received a few tarts from Round Robins, destashes, and swaps.  What I have tried had always put Aunt Smellman on my "Need to Order From Very Soon" list.

I thought to myself, "No better time than the present!" and sent her a list of different scents and products which she invoiced me for.

Here is what I ordered:
Clam Shell: Pinkie's Tangerine Lavender
Custom Blend: Aloha Pineapple/Vanilla Bean Noel
Custom Blend: Toasted Marshmallow/Birthday Cake
Custom Blend: Pinkie's Lemon Chiffon/Pinkie's Sugar
Custom Blend: Headbanger/Pinkie's Sugar
Custom Blend: Pouty Pucker/ Pinkie's Sugar
Tart:
Berry Blast
Bora Bora
Breezes and Sunshine
Cashmere Sweater
False Eyelashes
Hot Pink Lime
Lickity Split
Lipgloss
Mandarin Tiki
Paris Twilight
Rachel's Blue Moon
Raspberry Macaroon
Satin Serendipity
Vampires In Love
Pink Sands
Lavender Martini
Lavender Lemonade

I ordered on March 11th and got the order today (March 25th) so it took about two weeks!!

I took everything out of the envelope (I wasn't sure if I could share these pictures on this post from my phone (still learning) but the second part of the review will have PLENTY more pictures!!) And everything was well packed (with packing paper and peanuts).  Nothing was cracked or broken.

There was an invoice for my order and a business card included in the package.

One of the tarts that I had ordered (Rachel's Blue Moon) had been discontinued so Aunt Smellman replaced that one tart with three tarts for me to try.  Which was just fine with me :)

I have asked Aunt Smellman how long to let these tarts cure for and she told me to wait one week before melting.

My second part of this review will be after the one week curing time and will contain more pictures and some melted reviews!! Stay tuned!!

Her website is auntsmellman.com .  In my opinion, her website is very easy to navigate, easy on the eyes, and what I love from any vendor webpage, has pictures of each product to go along with the listing.

I can't wait to start melting!!

Short and Sweet!

Hi everyone!!

Well I moved and everything went great with that!!  The only thing that is a downside, is that my internet provider told me that since I moved, that I get way less internet for the same price.  So I've only been able to get on with my phone, and won't let me post any blog posts!! Ugghh!! Which sucks cuz I've been able to take some pretty good pictures with my phone!

So I have been going to the library to do the things that I can't do on my phone!!

Be on the lookout for an Aunt Smellman review coming up!  Also got some fun orders between my last post and this one!!

I will be back!!  Hopefully in the next week or so!! <3

Have a great weekend everyone!! And keep on melting!! <3

Back on the FP BandWagon

I am sitting here with a big bowl of raeman noodles and thought of something I wanted to impart upon you all!!

I really enjoy the Roast Beef raeman noodles, which are hard to find in my area and can be found normally at one grocery store.  It's good, different, and doesn't have this bad stench that most of the other packets have.  I eat raeman noodles by choice, because they are cheap, easy, fill you up, and I don't have to think too much while making them or if I am going to mess them up.  Because when I cook, that happens.  The best part is, I have perfected the science how to cook them the way I like them, so they come out the same every single time!

Eventually, the noodles by themselves get kinda boring.  I've found articles in different magazines (even health magazines) that tell you how to spice up your raeman!! My favorites have been raeman with scrambled eggs, cream cheese & kale, butter & shredded cheese, and I just made a new concoction where I pulsed some celery, potato, and onion and put it in there with a little parmesan cheese!!  Pretty good!!

If any of you help yourself to raeman noodles, definitely give one or two of these a try!! Or if you have a cool little raeman recipe, I'd love to hear it! <3

Back to wax!! I have been treating myself to tiny Front Porch orders here and there, and between a few restocks, got these!

4Pack Lavender Noel
4Pack Sandalwood
4Pack Lavender Pink Chiffon
4Pack Sweet Dreams
Single Lavender Marshmallow ZB
Single Marshmallow Mango Bread

What kinda sucks, is that I am 50cents away from the $25 mark to get refunded ten percent.  I'm thinking about just grabbing a single or something to put it over.  It's not like there aren't tons of scents I'm wanting to get.  I just love FP's lavender!! <3  I made a whole list of scents based on FP's new scent list that I want to try/get on my virtual sticky note program!  It's a LONG list!

I really forgot after not ordering FP for a long while how ADDICTING it is, with the free shipping incentive!  I mean, really really easy to just get a single or a four pack because you aren't paying any extra in shipping.  Soooooo nice to indulge a tiny (HUGE) want to order sometimes :D

It seems I have gravitated over to somewhat earthy/spa type of scents for the spring and summer.  Especially spring though.  It's just so relaxing to have a lavender or sandalwood scent on with a little fruit mixed in!  I'm still loving bakery, Pink Sugar and Serendipity too, but I think I am going to try to have EVERYTHING blended with that lavender from FP.  I'm obsessed, what can I say?  lol

Still waiting on my Shayz and my second FP order (above)!  My The Bathing Garden order (SO EXCITED!) should be shipping out Monday because I paid on the 24th! So I should be getting it, hopefully on Wednesday!

And to make matters even more exciting, my moving day is on the 28th or the 1st of March!  So slowly packing everything up as time grows closer.  I'm moving to a different apartment in the same apartment complex, so nothing too different, just a little manual labor to keep the blood flowing and the bank account better padded! <3

I hope everyone is having a wonderful and safe weekend!!

Get Up, Straight and Tall, Get Your Back Against the Wall

Cuz my love for wax is dangerous!  Dangerously FUN!  (Anyone a Madonna fan? White Heat? Lol)

There is a reason I decided to reference this song in my post tonight.  I was trying to think of a drug/reference to being high in a song, but I don't listen to that type of music.  This is the closest that I could come up with.

In many groups, there is always that excitement before and after making an order.  Many times this feeling is compared to having a high similar to, well drugs.  I always think this is such a funny comparison!! Thirteen years in school and every other phrase is "Say no to drugs." and "Drugs are bad."  What we are really comparing is the addicting quality of our hobby.  And the most common thing to be addicted to is drugs.  It's the mere act that is addicting; it's like collection addiction.  We are the obsessive collector.  We are a slave to our senses because we need wax so we can satiate our olfactory thirst.

We are almost forced into action to engage in wax and candles for smell, food for taste, music to hear,   When you have something that makes you a slave to your senses, you love receiving and it almost forces you to comply to your addiction.  Nowadays, in the wax world, you are "smelling" with your eyes with all of the new products that are out: chunks, loaves, brittle, doughnuts, decorated clamshells, etc.  The high that you experience when clicking that submit button, is almost unparalleled!  Dreaming up orders and blends in your mind, thinking how beautiful your wax will look and smell once it reaches your mailbox and into your arms, is what we all feel plotting and submitting orders at all of our favorite vendors.

It is our way of stress relief and enhancing our quality of life by something so simple yet so intriguing. "What scent do I put on today?"  No extra effort, no focus, the automatic body function of breathing allows you to enjoy scent without having to work at it.  It's one of the things that I, and I'm sure everyone else appreciates and enjoys about our wonderful hobby.  This coupled with the array of different scents, the possibilities with the blending of new and different scents, which only increases our want for new and extra stimulating ideas/blends.  You can almost call it, instead of Sense Stimulation, "Scents Stimulation".

I got to participate in this height of stimulation, and ordered three times today (two times if you count with a friend).  I LOVE ordering, I love the plotting, the preparation, everything (obviously)

Shayz Scentz

Six Packs:
2 Pink Serendipity
Warm Pink Vanilla Sugar
Pink Toastie Marshmallow
Lavender Serendipity
Sweet Dreams
Sweet Lavender

Also went out on a limb and got a few shapes!  A jumbo bunny tart in Pink Sugar Vanilla Bean, 2 "Spring Sinus Tarts, and a double heart tart in Pink Serendipity.  I got two cups in Lavender Vanilla and Honeydew Melon!

Then I made a Front Porch order!  Everyone knows I love my Group Hug (which is a blend of FP's lavender vanilla, tangerine, and Pink Sugar).  It's fabulous!  I had just made my Shayz order and was like, "OK, I have a little bit of money, why don't I check for my Group Hug?" Because when I have money and when Group Hug is stocked, those times never get quite aligned.  BUT TODAY WAS DIFFERENT!  Today I grabbed the LAST four pack of Group Hug and a four pack of Lavender SCDB!  WOOHOO!!!!!!!

Last but not least, my friend was participating in Victoria's Designer Creations flash sale!  I haven't tried too many (maybe one or two VDC's and they've only been in destashes) so I wanted to try in my own little order!! I got a few things!

Victoria's Designer Creations

Pink Grapefruit grubby
Ice Cream Cake Batter ZB grubby
First Kiss Lips
Hot Kiss Lips
Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream Scoop

Yayyy!! So excited!! Also looking forward to my Bathing Garden haul.  I paid on the 24th, so it'll still be a little while!!

The Bathing Garden
2 Marshmallow Cookie Jar
2 Sleepy
Marshmallow Frosted Tangerine Mango
Pomegranate Lime Sweet Tart
Cheshire Cat
Cleopatra's Cream Bath
Illusions of the Labyrinth

Daphne's Divine Round Robin

Hi everyone!!

OK so I have some really great news!!

I am moving!! Not far, but I am moving!! Both my husband and I have been sharing a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment, only because there were no one bedroom apartments when we got our own place!  Now we can get a one bedroom and have less rent for the space we ACTUALLY USE!  (That second bedroom was a place for our stuff that we had hurried and packed when we moved the first time, and we had no need for it).  For the past week, we have been packing our stuff and going through everything, and you will never BELIEVE how much stuff we had that we didn't want/need anymore!

So lots of trash bags later and very little boxes, we realized that there's not a huge amount of stuff (like I had thought) that we are moving over to the new apartment.  Soo... what comes with little rent, means more money.  Period.  Phew!

AND TAXES!! We will be getting our refund back in the next few weeks! SO YAY!!!

Back to your current programming!

Back a few weeks ago, Daphne's Divine owner Lindsey Davis contacted me, along with other bloggers, vloggers, and vendors to participate in one of two Round Robins!  Usually, I don't do Round Robins with all of the issues that surround them most of the time, however, I am very comfortable with the group of ladies that were participating, so I figured, why not?  I am never successful with openings because openings never coincide when I have money.  So thanks to Sunnee  at Fragrance Obsessed, a few months ago, I had my first Daphne's Divine clamshell: Pink Serendipity BooBerry! And ever since, I've been wanting more!

So here is the box when I opened it!!

Pretty!!!!

So it took me two hours to go through the whole box (Large Flat Rate) with Barry!  And here's what I took out!!

Daphne's Divine TakeOuts: Serendipity Vanilla Butter Fudge, Island Mango Rock Candy, Cake Batter FlapJacks, Alien Bites, Serendipity Cotton Candy Taffy, Strawberry Vanilla Butter Fudge, Boo Berry Pops, and Hot Pink Lime Serendipity

Non Daphne's Take Outs: Two Bundt Cakes of CFTKR Berry Sorbet, scent shot of UTC Blueberry Vanilla, Starlit Wildberry Scone , RG Strawberry Serendipity, Rainbow Melts Pink Peppermint and FP Sugar Cookie Donuts

Then my Put-Backs!
LCP 5 sticks of "Mix Ur Scent" in Nana's Sugar Cookie, Singles in Sweet Honeydew, Pink Coconut Cake, Orange Sherbert, Pistachio Coconut Fluff, and Scoopable Sample of Watermelon Ice Cream Bread. Vintage Chic Scents: Single Rose in Aunt Bee and War of the Worlds, Butterfly Lane scallop in Pizzelle, Rosegirls: Square in Spiced Apples and Peaches, Ava's Country Cupboard: 3oz Sliceable Tart in Spiced Apples and Peaches, CBV: Scentshot in Marshmallow Fireside, LSC: (repackaged) scentshot in Strawberry Mallow Bread, Crosscreek: Scallop in Frosty the Snowman, K's Kreations: Scallop in Orange Sunshine, Pics Petals and Scents: 1 Single in Jammin' Sugar Cookie, HHS: 4 Pieces of Brittle in Granma's Blackberry Butter Jam Cookies, 4 Prim Words in Toasted Bubble Gum Cotton Candy, 3 Prim Words in Lemon Drop Ice Cream Scoop Dough Bread, and 2 Prim Words in Vanilla Nutmeg

The box before I have to send it out!  Nice, full, and good stuff!

And you won't believe me, but I haven't even been melting much lately!! Since Barry and I got sick, since we couldn't smell them anyway, I figured there was no point in melting (and I didn't have any Sinus Relief Tarts, which I will be getting soon!).  And ever since, I wanted to make sure I had enough good tarts to put in this Round Robin!  I have been melting a little though!!

Shayz Scentz Pink Toastie Marshmallow
Front Porch Apricot Vanilla Butter Fudge
Starlit Wildberry Scone
Slatkin Vanilla Cinnamon
The Bathing Garden Pistachio Pudding Cake
Kimrie Anne's Pink Lavender Vanilla Butter Fudge
Slatkin Flirt
Slatkin French Garden
Slatkin Citrus Flower

Anyhow!  I ordered from The Bathing Garden during her last restock and I am really excited about her Alice in Wonderland themed one that she plans to have next!  Anyone have any scents that they'd recommend that everyone needs to try?? Sound off below!

I hope everyone has a great week!!

My January

Remember that Textbroker site that I had mentioned in my previous article?  The one where you can get a little extra money (for me to spend on wax orders, that is!) for writing articles about pre-decided topics.  It is CRAMPING my blog posting STYLE!  So I took the day off.

My New Year's Resolution was to cook more, in the crockpot and out.  There is little that I love more (except for well, wax) than for my taste buds to be surprised, stunned, and pleasured by new dishes!  I would love to try Thai food, Japanese (other than sushi) food, Indian food, etc.  And really just want to learn how to cook regular things!  I aspire to be that mom-type who clips coupons and uses the crockpot while shuffling her kids off to soccer practice and dance recitals.  But before I do all that, I learn to cook and dine to unique and flavorful dishes!   I have been experimenting with crockpot "dump cakes" where all you do, is put a can of fruit (any kind), cake mix (any kind), and a stick of butter (in that order) and let it cook for three hours on high.  That sounds like my kind of recipe!

So you think, OK, this girl has got to have a bunch of orders with all this Textbroker money we've been hearing about.  Sadly, so I'm told, bills trump wax. (Who came up with that idea?)  I finally made a nice big order with The Bathing Garden when she restocked this past Monday January 19th.   I could not be MORE EXCITED about my order!!  I didn't order any scrubs this time, because I am still using my four scrubs that I bought in November plus I really really need more wax!  Here's what I ordered!!

The Bathing Garden 1/19/14

A) Marshmallow Cookie Jar
B) Marshmallow Cookie Jar
C) Marshmallow Frosted Tangerine
D) Sleepy
E) Sleepy
F) Pomegranate Lime Sweet Tart
G) Cheshire Cat
H) Cleopatra's Cream Bath
I) Illusions of the Labyrinth
J) Guava Berry Gelato
K) Gardenia Coconut Cream

Some of these are "whims" that I just have heard so much about and need to see if they are worth the hype!  Like Illusions of the Labyrinth is supposed to be a Lush Calacas dupe, and I have never even smelled the Lush dupe, and since it is a unique fruity blend, I wanted to try it!

PLUS I won a contest on Vintage Chic Scents and got a clamshell, a 3pack of roses, and a scent shot, along with two samples!

Clamshell was in Walk of Fame
Roses were in Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'
Scentshot was in The Saturday Evening Post

Samples were in Aunt Bee and War of the Worlds.

Everything smells great cold sniff, I am being good and letting them cure!

I also took a page out of Sunnee's old playbook and decided to keep my empties as a way of incentive to keep them and how they add up!! This is over the past few weeks!!

I have to shout out to Crosscreek, I ordered with a friend and got five singles each in a Christmas sampler.  I put on Elf's Treats, in my bulb warmer, a single mind you, and it was blowing into my living room and across my apartment.  SO STRONG!! The other's I had were good but not as mind-blowingly strong as that one.

I hope everyone is adjusting to writing 2014!! I know it's taken me a little getting used to!!

Have a great week!!

Cheers to 2014!

Where has the year gone!?

Seriously... I can't believe it is already 2014 (in a few hours, that is!)

Looking back at previous posts and just plain ol' remembering... this time last year, I was a manager at Subway, trying to get out of my super stressful, thankless job.  And I had gotten a Lil' Kitchen Candles order (everyone remember LKC) for Christmas.

It seems like every time I make an order for Christmas to be wrapped under the tree, it seems like they close down.  LKC last year, Butterfly Lane this year *whimper whimper*

Christmas 2012

Christmas 2013

I was a Beaux-Savons-Frais administrator back then too.  But it was short lived.

I also hadn't gotten into zucchini blends yet.  Because I was talking about Amish Bread blends... and while I still like Amish Bread blends... I really really love that creamy zucchini bread WAY more!

Some scents that I got into this year that I never thought I'd get into, along with the zucchini is LAVENDER!! I hated HATED lavender. It always made me think of old hippie's houses and incense shops.  So I think I got a Front Porch lavender blend (which for those of you who don't know, Front Porch uses Downy Lavender Vanilla in all of their lavender blends) and it just clicked.  I also fell inlove with their Group Hug scent (which is Pink Sugar, Lavender Vanilla, and Tangerine!)

I have always loved Pistachio.  My mom used to make Pistachio Cake sometimes for my birthday, and it was always beyond delicious!! So when I started out in the wax world, my first Pistachio scent was Pistachio Pudding Cake.  I got it, and melted it, and there was something off, no matter what company it was from, or what warmer I used.  It was really disappointing... but figured maybe Pistachio was one of those scents that was better to consume rather than smell.

Then I found Pistachio Coconut Fluff!  The first time I got this scent was from Sugar & Spice Gourmet Candles.  I swear, it was on a whim (I've found a bunch of scents I like on whims such as this), and I just grabbed it because I was curious.  I ended up loving it and trying to find it from any vendor, trying to make my own Pistachio Coconut Fluff (Pistachio Pudding Cake+Coconut+Toasted Marshmallow) but to no avail, nothing was like my PCF.  Now I have a whole bag from HHS that I'm melting sparingly until I can buy more...

There has also been a huge influx in scents like Blackberry Butter Jam Cookies, Spiced Apples & Peaches, Twinkies, Vanilla Butter Fudge, Pumpkin Blueberry and other scents/blends like these!  It has been so interesting!! I swear I'd never believe that I'd be able to bare witness to all sorts of awesome blends!

This all being said, I really made the transition into bakery scents!! I used to think people were a little nuts when I heard people just wanted to smell sugar cookies and other scents that would make you hungry.  But now I know, and am aware, how awesome it is!

A few vendors that I'm excited about that surfaced in 2013: Kimrie Anne's, Vintage Chic Scents, Daphne's Divine and Ethereal Glow.  They either have just set up shop in 2013 or have become really recognizable/famous in 2013.  Sometimes I just don't know the difference!  :D

Vendors that III found out and loved in 2013:

The Bathing Garden- I avoided TBG for so long because Shannon only did clamshells, even as pretty as they were, I didn't want that nasty plastic-y smell in my wax.  But after so many people saying how they loved this blend and that blend... I made a little tiny order... And of course, fell inlove.  I love the different blends, the pretty decorations, the scrubs in many different scents, and the customer service!  And the fact that TBG is probably one of the only vendors that mastered clamshells without the plastic smell.

K's Kreations- I know I have looked at her site before, perhaps before 2013, and forgot.  Then when I went and ordered, and did the Katch Em' sale, I was hooked!! I love her brittle, her scallops for trying out different scents and some of the different scents that she has!! Her Cookie Bread blends are fabulous!! Plus I love knowing that when you order the Rainbow Brittle, it goes towards a good cause, an anti-bullying charity in her late son's name.  Plus Kathy is awesome! And so are her administrators!

Sugar and Spice Gourmet Candles- Shanna is a doll!  She is great with customer service and most of her scents that I've had from her last for DAYS!  She is infamous for her Ghost Munch (A Bath and Body Works dupe of Cider Lane) and Honeydew blends!! I've ordered from her a few times, and have always been very pleased!! I still need to make an order here soon...

I'd love to hear all of your New Year's resolutions!! Mine is to learn how to cook better, especially with my new dual crockpot!!

Happy 2014 Everyone!!

Random Christmas

The night before Christmas, nothing was stirring
not even a mouse
For the wax addicts had set out their bowls
for the whole house

Had already went to sleep, in hopes of more
wax and smellies

On the day of Christmas, to smell while they
fill their bellies
And give presents to all that they cherish
and love
To gather their family and friends to gaze
at Santa's sleigh above
But a week before Christmas, everything
was buzzing
Grabbing everyone's gifts, and making sure
they aren't late in the running
But once they get home and smell their
strong, wonderful wax
Their mind can be set at ease and finally
relax
So Happy Holidays to all my friends
who have enjoyed this wonderful hobby with me
I'm so glad to have met you all,
full of glee!

Now that my Christmas poem is done, I just want to go ahead and say that I am the utmost honored to have met all of you!! I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas!!  I'm getting alot of my Christmas presents for Barry at the last minute so it will come together probably Christmas Eve!!

So anyone plotting orders for after Christmas, into the New Year?

I'm working on orders for:

K's Kreations
Haley's Heavenly Scents
Ethereal Glow
FussAssMcGee
Sugar & Spice
Vintage Chic Scents
The Bathing Garden (when she restocks)

I have been writing articles on a site called "Textbroker.com" that actually pays you for writing articles on different topics.  This is where alot of my wax money is going to come from, and I'm going to be working it to make more and better orders!! I am so excited about it!! Feel free to check it out!

I'm also trying to melt my pumpkins, apples, peppermints, heavy bakery scents before I get tired of them and retire them to the closet so I have more space on my bookshelf.  Luckily, it's only a small bin, so I should get through them soon!!

And Lauren, I got your Christmas card today and it made my day!!  Thank you!!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!

Tag! You're It! (Christmas Style)

For those of you Bath and Body Works fantatics, you all know Cia Arielle Malone, owner of Cia's Pink Pumpkin and See It, Love It, Buy It blogs!!  All the latest with everything Bath and Body Works, wedding (A bride-to-be), and awesome!

So she tagged me in this very cool Christmas tag!! And I'm going to tag my favorite bloggers to do this very same tag!! So be prepared!! lol

1) What do you love most about Christmas Time?

         A) This is going to sound funny, but I love all the crazy Christmas themed food products they come out with during the holidays.  I am still searching for Pecan Pie Pringles and Lays Hershey Chips.  Those are ones that stuck out to me and I think they'd be fun!! I still have yet to try many, but I get a few each year!! The Peppermint frosting by Pillsbury looks delicious, Candy Cane Chex Mix, and of course, you cannot forget all of the Starbucks Holiday Creation Drinks that they have each year around this time!

2) Do you celebrate the holiday in style or is it "bah humbug" for you?

         A) To be honest, I would like to decorate more than I do.  I live in a small apartment and decorate very sparsely.  I feel like once I move into a house, that I would decorate more since I would have more space to put everything.  For now, I decorate with my tree, my stockings, and the few Christmas warmers I have!

3) Are you leaving out anything for Santa Claus this year so he remembers to leave you presents?

         A) Hahaha no, he'll have to fight me for the cookies.  But in all realness, I had done some research on Santa Claus a few years ago and had found out that originally in a poor part of, I want to say Switzerland or Poland, that a man went around in red and left the children of the village fruit and small toys in socks.  That way they'd have something to look forward to and open on Christmas morning.  And that was how the Santa Claus legend began.  Of course, it got bigger and bigger as the years went on, but that's how I like to remember Santa Claus.  And that I believe in the magic of Christmas.  So no, Santa Claus is not getting my cookies.

4) What is the one gift that you are looking forward to GIVING?  (It can be your kids, another family member, etc, just remember to be discrete if they are reading this blog)

         A) I am looking forward to giving Barry the rest of his Japan items!! He's the only one I buy presents for, so I'm letting him pick out the rest of what he gets for Christmas!

5) What is your all-time favorite Christmas movie?

         A) My all-time favorite Christmas movie.... that is a hard question.  I would have to say the first Home Alone or Miracle on 34th Street.  How can you beat a beautiful house full of Christmas decorations swelling with Christmas music with the promise of being together for Christmas?  Or believing in Santa Claus, and really believing what Santa Claus stands for: the magic of Christmas.  Both beautifully-done movies!!

6) What is your all-time favorite Christmas song?

         A) My all-time favorite Christmas song is, hands-down, Merry Christmas Darling.  Karen Carpenter has the most beautiful voice ever!  Plus this is not one of your average, over-heard Christmas songs.  And it's a classic!!  Some others I enjoy (no laughing, these are a bit more modern) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays by N'Sync and The Gift by 98 Degrees.  *sigh* #dreamsofaboybandfan

7) If given the opportunity to participate in an Ugly Sweater Party, which sweater would you choose?  Peruse one on the internet or even pick one out from your closet and show us!

         A) Lol I won't lie, if I went to an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party, I'd have to get the most atrocious looking sweater I could get my hands on.  Something like this --> Ugly Sweater

8) Have you started any Christmas traditions this year that you plan on carrying forward?

         A) Ehh... not this year.  Well sort of.  This year is the first year that both Barry and I are off for Christmas Day!! So I hope that THAT tradition will carry on! And wearing red or plaid pajamas on Christmas Eve!

9) It's Christmas Morning... What does it look like outside?

         A) One year, the first year we were in our apartment, it actually snowed Christmas Day!!  That's a first for Georgia and probably a last.  It usually looks snowless and most of the time, no one is outside!!

10) You just found yourself standing under some mistletoe.... who comes up to give you a kiss?

         A) Well... there is that cute guy down the hall.....

No no no no no just kidding!! Haha!  My lips are for my one and only! <3

Now I am going to tag my favorite ten bloggers (I hope there is ten!) and if I tag you, then I dare you to do this tag!!

Cia Malone @ Cia's Pink Pumpkin

Sunnee @ Fragrance Obsessed

Deb E. @ It's Always Something

Lauren @ LoLo Loves Scents

LOL OK I won't lie, I think that's all the blogs I follow.  If you have a blog and I have not mentioned you, please post below with your blog's link so I CAN follow and you all can be included in this Christmas tag!! I can't wait to see these answers!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Influenster VoxBox- The Violet Box- Part 2

Let me go ahead and post another picture refreshing your memories with what I got in this Influenster Voxbox this time around!!

In the box!

Out of the box and for all to see!

So I'm going to review a few more of these products!!

First the Goody Athletique Headband!

Me with my headband!! Hurrah!
I must admit, I have been wearing this to work versus putting my hair up.  I hate getting hair in my face.  For those who do not know, I work at Ingles Supermarket.  I am constantly having to pick up heavy 24pack cases of water bottles, dog food, things on the bottom of carts.  This really did keep the hair out of my face and isn't stretching my hair across my head that would possibly cause a bald spot!! I love it!! Have been wearing it every day for work!! I'd definitely recommend this for people who work out too (I need to do that too)

Next I tried my Montagne Jeunesse Clay Mask!

HELLO CLARISSE!! Mwahahahhaa!

Teeheehee!

Barry helped me put it on.  I used my Athletique headband too!!  I will go ahead and warn everyone who wants to try, be prepared for COLD!! It's supposed to be (since it was a Glacial mask) but really cold!
I waited the fifteen minutes and took it off.  It was really easy to clean off (after taking off the fabric part) and my face was actually really super smooth!!
I would love to try the other kinds (I think there was a berry one too!)

Then I tried my Sally Heusen Triple Shine nail polish!

I was unsure about the color, but it dries somewhat fast, goes on well, and is really pretty!! Even with my short stubby nails.  It's fantastic! I'd definitely buy again and I'm not a big polish person!

The Bathing Garden: November Restock

Ohhhhhh my!  This may be my favorite TBG order yet!! Everything I got, I'm completely inlove with!! Not just so-so on one or two, EVERYTHING is just my cup of tea!!

Even Barry, who was smelling everything as I was taking it out of the envelope, was like, "Mmmmmm."  "Ooooo"  "Ahhhh"

Then he said, "The Bathing Garden has some great scents!"

I was like YESSSS!!! :D Yes they do!!

(Left to right, top to bottom) Cherry Blossom Green Tea, North
Pole Ozone, Pistachio Almond Pudding, Faerie Bonfire, Summer
Melon & Mint, and Cinderella Would Be Jealous

This is the Sugar Leaf Block Tart.  I haven't seen
too many pictures of the Sugar Leaf, but a bunch of
Faded Opulence, and a few of the Apple one.

And I had my doubts about a few of these, but I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone, and have been super pleased with what I've found.  Yes, I still hate patchouli but I like sandalwood.  Stuff like that.

Cinderella Would Be Jealous-  This is one of the most yummy scents I have smelled!! It smells like fondant icing! Definitely one I would describe as, don't melt unless you are ready to see your dentist!! lol!

Pistachio Almond Pudding- I was a little afraid of this one being too much like Pistachio Pudding and being heavy on the cherry note.  But this is a really pretty pistachio, a tiny bit of cherry smell... but it blends well with the almond and everything!! I'm excited to smell melting!!

North Pole Ozone- I have no idea what this one is.  It smells like spearmint with a tiny bit of pine and something bakery or sweet like vanilla or cake.  I may be wrong about that.

Faerie Bonfire- This is so nice.  It's a smoky cozy scent.  A little smokier than Marshmallow Fireside but I think this will probably be a favorite!!

Summer Melon & Mint- This is one of the best mix-y type of scents that I've smelled.  You get this wonderful honeydew melon and right after, a sprig of mint.  To me, it seems like the perfect fresh scent... a little fruity, a little minty, and it smells like spring!

Green Tea & Cherry Blossom- This is so nice!! I have come to a conclusion, cold sniff, I like Green Tea!! And it's really pretty with Cherry Blossom!!  Smells like a pretty laundry scent!

Sugar Leaf- I had heard that this was similar to Bath and Body Work's Warm Vanilla Sugar.  I think this is a more mature version, but still very very pretty and vanilla-y!

Now, I can order TBG's next restocks and now my husband's on-board!! lol I am going to cure these and hopefully try them in the next few weeks!! Soooo happy with them!!

Influenster-The Violet Box

For those of you who are not familiar with Influenster, it is one of the world's largest companies that let you test products!! They send these boxes out with different products, and they match you up when there is a box that fits your profile and survey answers.  They then send them out, and you get to use/test every product and post your reviews on your public forum (Facebook, Twitter, a blog, etc) your honest and true opinions!

Go sign up!  http://www.influenster.com/

Well I was fortunate enough to be matched with the Violet Box.  I haven't received an Influenster box over a year... so this was really exciting!

Here are some pictures and an itemized description of what I received!

Add caption

Goody's Atheletique Headband $6, Sally Hansen New Triple Shine $4.99, Soy Joy 99cents, Montagne Jeunsse Clay Spa $2.49, and Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo $5.99.

I already went ahead and tried the SoyJoy bar!!

What it looks like from when you are buying, in case anyone
wants to try!

The wrapper and what the bar actually looks like.  Personally
I think it looks like something completely non-edible but I'm sure
you all can infer on that one :D

As far as the taste goes, it isn't super sweet... but kind of tastes like the unsweetened chocolate bars without being so bitter.  And then it has pieces of fruit (which I really think they are raisins) in it as well.  I think the certain taste that it has is supposed to keep you from gobbling it up (like the super sweet protein bars that you normally get that taste like chocolate and peanut butter or chocolate chip cookie dough).  So I gotta say this would get a A-, for you health nuts out there, this would be a great addition to your diet!  It just wasn't necessarily my cup of tea! But I think it is eatable for even the non-soy eaters!  Just.... don't.... look at it much.

I am really looking forward to trying the rest of these products out!! Yay!

Speaking of products to try, I have subscribed to a wonderful freebie site!  This one is nothing other than a regular website that  lets you know when certain companies are offering free samples on their Facebook pages or regular websites.  You sign up and get a sample of whatever you sign up for in 2-8 weeks, depending on the products.  I've gotten some in less than two weeks!! But it's the first freebie site that I think is actually legit!! Here's the site: http://www.freeflys.com

Here's what I've gotten in the past few days, all gratis!

Starbucks K Cups!  I don't have a Keurig of my
own (YET!) But am dying to get one! So I figure
I can try these Vanilla and Caramel cups
in a regular coffee maker, right?

I have never been a tea person.  Not hot, nor cold.
But I have been wanting to try some hot teas, to see
if any sway me.  Celestial and Twinings are the popular
hot teas I see being bought in my area, so I figured
I'd try them both while they were offering freebies.

I have also gotten Emergen-C packets, Breathe Right Strips, Twinings tea packets, etc etc.  I've kinda just started a month or two ago, but am really happy with the ones I've gotten!

Hope everyone enjoys!!

Playing Catch-Up: Non-Wax Style!

OK so you've seen the wax and it's glory.

But what about the non-waxy glory?? It should see the light too!! Lol

OK So I have something really cool to show you guys and this is way too cool to keep to myself!

Those of you who know Sunnee at Fragrance Obsessed know that she went to Japan about a month or so ago.  My husband loves his anime, which originated from Japan.  So I thought what better Christmas present than to get him something from his favorite anime "Bleach" from where it originated/was born!

So I asked Sunnee if she could look for a Bleach-related item and boy did she succeed!! Barry is SO excited (He knows he got something from Japan, but doesn't know quite what, yet.  Waiting for Christmas.)

This is a poster of Ichigo (the main character).
The poster looks exactly like it is on the box!
This is a notebook size felt patch with Ichigo and Rukia
(kind of, sort of love interest) in their Soul-Reaper
Outfits!

Here is this mini poster!  Ichigo in a different
Soul Reaper outfit!! Barry loves the more intense
fighting-looking ones.  He'll love this!
Here is the back of the mini poster!! Rukia!

This is the beginning of the Bleach NoteBook with
Ichigo and his Zanpakuto (Sword)

I took pictures of the pages, because they are so neat!  Barry
loves to draw, and this would help him out immensely drawing
the different characters!
Throughout the book, it becomes a grid, and then clear pages,
like the ones shown above!  I think it eventually becomes
purposed for drawing, which is so cool!
The grid pages.
Here's a picture of the inside of the back cover.
It's all of the Soul-Reaper captains!! With the head Captain
in front!  Barry's going to flip when he sees these!
And then the back cover, where Ichigo is a high school
student, with his backpack and Kon!
I'm a little embarrassed to say, that Barry never saw these,
I ate them before he got a chance.  These are so good!
I'm thankful I can get these anywhere!! Phew! <3
And she shouldn't have, but she got me some stuff too!
I thought these were just too cute!! A Notebook and a letter set!
I think they are just adorable!! I don't know if I have the heart
to use them!

Slatkin Leaves 4oz and Bath and Body Works Holly Citrus
Wreath hand soap!

LSC Strawberry Mallow Bread, Beezy Starburst, Beezy Pumpkin
Crunch Cake, Beezy Pink Toasty Marshmallow, and Beezy Pink Sugar
Cookies!  AND CANDY! These are my first ever Beezy's and Daphne's BTW!
S&S Ghost Munch, Crabby Pink Sugar, and Candles By Victoria
Strawberry White Cake
BH&G Frosted Sage Leaf and Daphne's Divine Pink Serendipity
Boo Berry!
Thank you so much Sunnee!!! I loved everything and appreciate it sooooo much!!

And I know it sounds bad.... but.... I let Barry open his poster early.... :D He loved it and put it up right away...

Barry's really happy! Me too!! Thank you!!

We decided to do the same face as Ichigo.  Hahahaha We can't
pull off the same intense face as Ichigo!! lol

So, I did a little Black Friday shopping, all BEFORE Black Friday, so when it came to actual Black Friday, I was broke.  Good thing, because I didn't want anything out anyway!  So I ordered the L3 chunks in my last post and Kimrie Anne's B1G1 16oz "Mini" Loaf sale!  Here's what I got during her loaf sale!!

Loaf 1:Pink Sugar/Lavender Vanilla/Vanilla Butter Fudge
Loaf 2:Serendipity/Coconut Cream Pie
Loaf 3:Sugar Cookie Dough/Buttery Brown Sugar
Loaf 4:Pink Sugar/Wildberry Mousse/Vanilla Sugar Waffle Cone

These I will not see (whimper, whimper) until Christmas.  SO I must be strong!

However, on Black Friday, I did manage to go to Wal-Mart (I know, most dreaded place of all) during the day, and while the $1.96 movies were pretty picked over, I got Die Hard 3, which was missing out of our Die Hard Collection!

And since I am an avid soda drinker (Diet Coke is my choice of poison, Barry loves his Dr. Pepper) and so when the 2liters were 75cents.... I couldn't resist :D

In my defense, this should last us for two weeks.  Yes we are caffeine addicted as much as we are scent addicted.  It happens!! Haha!

I also wanted to share this tea light warmer that I found, that I use for Christmas time!! I have had it for a long time and have always enjoyed it!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a SAFE Black Friday!! Can't believe people are killing each other for XBOX's and such!!

Has anyone put up their trees?? I would love to see some decorated trees!!  Here's mine!!!
